Bulletin board- August (First 3 and half weeks of school)
This bulletin board is a combination of several assignments. Favorite things drawings using pattern, mirrored name drawing for 6th and 7th grade, line variety/pattern/primary/secondary colors for 8th and 10th grade, and hand drawings for 10th grade. 10th grade also used American Sign Language to write their names using at least 5 letters. The Eagles are doing great work!

Bulletin board display 2- 10th grade realism/abstraction objects 8th grade- ASL hand drawing using 5 letters from student's name 7th grade- Wayne Thiebaud style donuts/cakes with pastel blending for appearance of 3 dimensions and 6th grade interpretive Aztec Sun Stone using color, pattern, and a face to represent the Aztec sun god Tonatiuh
Bulletin board- Sept. 26-Oct 7
This bulletin board has additional 7th grade functional calaveras to celebrate Dia de los Muertos and 8th grade Ouichol-style artworks. The Ouichol are an indigenous Mexican people well-known for their yarn paintings, beadwork, and artwork that emphasizes a connection to the natural environment.
Week of October 17th-October 28
Board display- 6th grade spooky eye paintings, 7th grade- 1 pt linear perspective spooky interiors, 10th grade- Personal ofrenda drawings for Dia de los Muertos
Week of 11/4-11/15
This display is for the weeks of 11/4-11/17. 6th grade completed x-ray hands using oil pastel resist and watercolors, 7th/8th grade completed a Pop art project using part of the logo for h/her favorite candy, and high school completed a floral drawing/painting emphasizing the understanding of positive and negative space.
Bulletin board display- Week of 11/28-12/2
Art bulletin board display with 10th grade Pop art paper sculptures. Students chose a snack/candy that they like and created a paper sculpture. Really proud of my students, they put in a great deal of work and it truly does show.

Week of 1/3-1/13
6th/7th learned about values and used value and color to create a duplicate cartoon/comic character drawing. 8th/10th grade learned about complementary and analogous colors and created an animal painting using acrylic paints. More student works will be added to this display as students finish.
February 6th - 16th
This display shows 10th grade 3 different media animal drawings, 8th grade personal logos, and 7th grade Pop art inspired by Roy Lichtenstein. I'm very pleased with the student work in this display

Greetings!
My name is Dylan Smith and I am the Visual arts instructor for grades 6-11.  This is my third year with MSE schools, but this is my 15th year teaching art.  I am excited to have the opportunity to work with MSE Cordova and look forward to another great year!
